I got my ‘rug yarn punch needle’ yesterday. So, I got busy last night and prepared my ‘Hummingbird Punch Needle Kit’ to be worked on…
(because we all know that a crafter can’t have too many projects going on at the same time. 😉 )
I figure it’s going to take me awhile to make the piece. I still have to learn to punch evenly. The finished size of it is supposed to be about 12 x 12 inches. I’m planning on trying to make a throw pillow out of it.
I’ll post updates as I go along.
But for today, this first post is the set up and preparation for punching. 😉
Here’s all the stuff in the kit
along with my new punch needle.
The pre-printed fabric square is too small
for my huge embroidery hoop.
I sewed strips of fabric on the fabric square and
made a border so it would fit my embroidery hoop.
I put masking tape around the
edge of the fabric so it wouldn’t fray.
I set the Hummingbird square in my hoop
and it now the piece is ready to be worked.
Wish me luck on learning to do
this punch needle craft.
I’m wishing you all a pleasant rest of the week.
