Thanks so much JQ
There’s just something special about seeing deer. Even though they usually cause us to have to replant and make extra work. We love them just the same.
I bet you see all sorts of cool critters by the lake. It sounds wonderful. 🙂
Oh, Deer!!! I see trouble coming for the new garden! We had to fence both our gardens and the orchard because of the deer. Millie is doing a great job of keeping them out of the yard.
I have caught up on your posts and see that you have been diggin’ in the dirt. When I walk over the hill in late afternoon, a deep earthy smell fills the air. Happy diggin’, E.C.!
Thanks Mary
The deer can be a problem, but for the most part we tolerate them. We’ve had to replace our two tomato plants already; one a deer pulled up and left it to die in the hot sun and the other a cut-worm murdered. We’ve put up cages around the new tomato plants, so fingers crossed that they’ll be able to mature.
I think gardening is so heartening and refreshing.
Happy Diggin’ to you too. 😀
Hey Margy
Thanks for telling me about the fence height. That’s need-to-know info for a gardener or anyone who wants to protect their yard. Deer are lovely but they can be so destructive. Thanks again. 🙂
Beautiful! We love seeing the deer here in the woods, by the lake.

We tried everything to keep the deer OUTSIDE our 4 foot chain link fence. We finally found the solution – raised the fence to 6 foot!
