I’m attempting to crochet a temperature blanket this year. I’ve been looking at beautiful ones posted online. I’m really impressed with them. I like the idea of making a blanket, adding additions by changing the colors with the temperature of the day.
I designed a pattern for a reasonable size blanket to include all 365 days.
There’s several color charts posted online for the temperatures, but I decided to work up a color chart of my own.
The only year long daily project I’ve ever attempted was many many years ago, on one of my ex-blogs, I challenged myself to post a photo of my yard every day. It got really monotonous, but I managed to do all 365 days. I was happy when the last day of the year arrived and I decided not to ever try another 365 day project again.
However, I hope that crocheting a blanket by matching the colors each day with the temperature, will be something that might hold my interest.
Have you ever took on a project that required daily updates for 365 days?
Was it difficult to keep up the daily additions?

I have been meaning to make a temperature blanket for years but have never gotten around to it. One of those things I will do eventually. Maybe. Lol I do not think I have ever stuck it out with any year long projects/challenges.

I bet you could make a gorgeous one with the yarns you spin. You could make yarn that not only stand for a temperature, but also stands for the weather like snow, cloudy, sunny, rainy, etc.. That would be so neat.
I hadn’t thought about it, but you’re right, with the weather charts that may be a big help if I get sidetracked. Cool! 🙂

Never tried a daily project, but I did try an year-long SAL last year – I guess maintaining interest is a bit different there since the expectation of progress is monthly. You’re definitely right about a temperature blanket being more varied than photographing the same location, though, so wish you happy crocheting! 🙂

I’ve been tempted to do a SAL, but I’m not brave enough to commit to one. I get sidetracked too easy.
I think the temperature blanket pattern that I’ve planned will help me stay active on it.

I’ll need to research a temperature blanket. I’ve never heard of the term. Sounds quite a project, EC.
The only daily challenge I’ve ever completed was NaPoWriMo and that was to write a poem everyday in April. Nearly killed me.

Temperature blankets are beautiful! This is a good 365 project. I attempted one many years ago but struggled to maintain record of the temperature in my area. I also couldn’t find resources to research the temperature if I missed a day. I eventually gave up. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress!

I lost track of my temperature sheet. I went online and thankfully found a monthly weather thing. I restarted my blanket using theirs. Now I feel more confident that I’ll get further into making this blanket and can catch up when I fall behind.

I tried- my struggle was finding the time to add a row every night
I think I made it 3 months- I now stare at it in the basement maybe I’ll pick back up March

I understand what you’re saying. I knew that I would burn-out or get distracted if I tried to do a long row each day, so I designed my blanket to be in small rectangle increments each day. So far, so good.
