1-20-2019 Super Blood Wolf Moon

I know some folks think it’s corny if you pay attention to anything to do with eclipses or a super moon. I personally think it’s a bit of extra fun. Plus it gives this old gal a chance to try and take a photo of it to post on my blog. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was a cold 20ยฐF and the wind was blowing like mad. I’d go outside to try for a photo and then dash back in the house for a few minutes and repeated doing this for about an hour. My camera refused to take a photo of the full eclipse. Here’s the best of the photos that I took last night.

I hope your week is a Happy one!

  1. Very atmospheric images E.C., well done for braving the cold! ๐Ÿ˜ We had too much cloud cover to see the eclipse over here. Wishing you a happy Monday and a wonderful new week too! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’– xxx

    • Thanks so much WW,
I know what you mean about the clouds. We had a lot of cloud cover, but thankfully, the wild winds kept the clouds moving enough for gaps for photos. ๐Ÿ˜€
Happy Monday and a wonderful week to you too. โค

    • Aw thanks Sheryl,
You made me smile. That’s so sweet. I’m glad we wasn’t the only ones to enjoy the event despite the cold. Doesn’t it make you feel good to see events like this and share it with your husband? That’s one of the fun things about being married. ๐Ÿ™‚

This eclipse happening in the middle of the night stopped a lot of folks from seeing it… well that and the cold. Maybe someday, you’ll be able to live where it’s easier to view the sky. With your photography knowledge, I bet you could take some awesome photos. ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Love the pictures, E.C.! You were pretty determined to click some pictures, seeing as you braved the freezing winds! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m with Cherry – I never seem to get past cloud covers to see or capture these celestial events, but it’s always fun to see what other people have clicked.

    • Thanks so much Anita,
Yep, I gave it my best try. I worried all the photos would be blurred from my shaking, but I managed to get these 3 fairly focused. It was cloudy here too, but thankfully the wind was high and blew hard enough to keep them moving and make breaks in them. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Lovely photos! And you just identified the trouble with โ€œsmartโ€ cameras. My old film slr would have done what I said to do. Of course, I wouldnโ€™t have known if I got it for weeks, so there is the trade off!

We were having snow, so no chance of seeing it, but I do love super moons and eclipses and the like. Thanks for braving the elements to get this!

Fortunately, we happened to catch the news talking about it. I’m glad we did.
You’re welcome, I’m happy to share my photos with you all. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sorry you missed it. It’s easy to forget stuff like this. I’m glad we heard it on the news to remind us. Oh well, at least you got to see the lightness of the super moon. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s easy to forget about things like this. Especially when they’re happening in the middle of the night. You’re welcome, I’m happy to share my photos with you all.
Thanks so much for not thinking me corny and for your wonderful compliments of enjoying the eclipse. You are a peach. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Thanks so much Margy,
Camera’s are so finicky about taking darkened photos even with the nighttime option clicked. Oh well, at least the moon is captured on it’s way to being covered. ๐Ÿ˜‰
