It took longer than I thought it would to make the 136 Frosty Green granny squares for the ‘Country Apples Afghan’. I’m glad I made myself weave the yarn ends in as I made the squares, hopefully it’ll make joining them together more enjoyable.
I’m surprised that I’ve made all 352 granny squares.
I wonder how long it’ll take me to assemble them.
My temperature blankets are coming along and growing day-by-day, week-by-week and month-by-month. We’ve been in a heat wave and it sure makes for a lot of lighter colors in the low temp blanket and fiery colors in the high temp blanket. I hope it won’t be too long until the temperatures cool down and we catch a break from the heat.

Joys Of Creating 
Beautiful work and blankets…..I never got the knack of crochet, knitting, etc. I focused more on oil painting/pen & ink and writing. I guess we all have our “things” – you’ve definitely found yours!

I must confess, that I lined them up neatly for the photo and now they’re jumbled up in a large plastic bag. I enjoy the granny squares and agree I almost don’t want to assemble them either, but like you, I want to see my granny apple afghan made in full. 😉
My temperature blankets are quite cheerful looking right now, but I’ll be glad to start using some of the colors for cooler weather. Now, if I could only convince Mother Nature to activate the Autumn temperatures. 😀

The blankets are so fun! Soon they will be turning colors like the trees do this time of year.
However it is the apples project that truly impresses me! All those squares! All ends woven in! Wow!! I am sure you will enjoy joining them and have that blanket in no time.

I’m glad I went ahead and weaved the yarn ends in,. The other day I saw a photo of an afghan made with small squares and the lady joined them together without weaving the ends in first. The back of her afghan looks like fur made of spider legs all fighting to get out. She was unhappy with the hours it was taking to finish her otherwise beautiful creation. I felt sad for her.
Hopefully, I’ll start joining my squares soon. 🙂

Yesterday morning while I was crocheting my daily addition on, the weather report was on the tv and the map that was shown for our region looked like my blanket. We got a good chuckle out of it. I’m looking forward to adding the colors for cooler temperatures in, it’s been a

It has been fun watching your temperatures and comparing them to ours. We’ve had a cool, wet summer and this past week-end we had 10 inches of snow. If I had done a temperature blanket, it probably would have been mostly cool colors!

Your temperatures blankets would be blues, purples and probably white too. Oh my goodness, 10 inches of snow and in October. Even though the snow is cold and dangerous, I bet it’s pretty.
