In Loving Memory Of Sheli-Bean

I’m broken hearted to tell you that Sheli-Bean has earned his wings.
Last summer 2024, I posted about Sheli-bean suffering from sad health issues. Unfortunately, due to the condition of his heart he could never fully recover. The last week of January 2025 he had a stroke and his little heart finally gave out.
We’re so thankful for the time we had with him. He was a wonderful blessing in our family and our lives. It’s very tough without him.
He will always be a special part of our hearts.

Wishing you all a blessed rest of the week.

Nostalgic Floss – Kitted-Out 2 cross stitch patterns

I decided to use up some of my embroidery stash by finding patterns and kitting them out myself. I rather enjoy doing it this way.
Some years back, I inherited several skeins of floss. As I was sorting the floss, I thought there might be some I could use. I noticed something so nostalgic that it made my heart smile. The prices on the floss were 3/10¢, 5¢, 12¢. Ahhh, the good-old-days. 🧵🪡
I looked through my patterns in hopes of finding one I had all the floss required. I found two that I couldn’t choose between, so I kitted them both out.

The stitching mood hits.

I immediately liked “Snowball Glass by Maria Brovko” cross stitch pattern when I saw it way back in 2020. The big bonus was it was free.
I think “Flower Winter Bird Cross Stich by nathnolu ” is so charming. It was easy to find the pattern for sale.

Now when the mood hits to cross stitch, I’m ready for it. I wonder how long it’ll take me. Years perhaps or sooner. I never know about me.😁

Wishing you all good moods and happy crafting.

Egg-in-a-hole – childhood favorite

I had a craving for a favorite childhood breakfast of an egg-in-a-hole. Keto Hawaiian bread has a really good taste to it toasted, so I figured it might be okay to use with this.
I was right, it was good, plus, I realized, that the keto Hawaiian bread, egg and the bit of butter equaled to about 10 carbs. I think that isn’t a bad amount for a nostalgic tasty breakfast.

Wishing you all a happy nostalgic Wednesday.

Classic Raisin Bread – no cinnamon

While shopping, I decided in the bread isle at the grocery store that I would make some raisin bread. It’s been so long since I made raisin bread, that I couldn’t remember my recipe ingredients except for flour, cinnamon and raisins.
I looked up a recipe on my phone and was amazed to see a recipe which has no cinnamon at all. It’s actually just a plain Classic Raisin Bread
I’m always up for trying a plain classic recipe. Even though the recipe is fairly straight forward I took my time mixing, rising and baking from 9am to 2pm.
It was enjoyable to make fresh baked raisin bread on a cold winter’s day.
My husband loved the raisin bread too.

Wishing you all successful baking.
