Classic Raisin Bread – no cinnamon

While shopping, I decided in the bread isle at the grocery store that I would make some raisin bread. It’s been so long since I made raisin bread, that I couldn’t remember my recipe ingredients except for flour, cinnamon and raisins.
I looked up a recipe on my phone and was amazed to see a recipe which has no cinnamon at all. It’s actually just a plain Classic Raisin Bread
I’m always up for trying a plain classic recipe. Even though the recipe is fairly straight forward I took my time mixing, rising and baking from 9am to 2pm.
It was enjoyable to make fresh baked raisin bread on a cold winter’s day.
My husband loved the raisin bread too.

Wishing you all successful baking.

Diamond painting – a brief overview

Here’s a brief overview of diamond painting. Unfortunately, this isn’t a tutorial. It’s just a general idea of how it works. There’s oodles of videos and tutorials that better explain the step-by-step process.

Diamond painting is a bit like cross-stitch or paint-by-numbers, except you use resin disks, referred to as diamonds, to fill in the picture instead of floss or paint.

Each color area has a designated character, number or letter. The canvas has adhesive in the working picture depending on if it a partial drill or a full drill. This is a partial drill picture, only the flowers and watering can is to be covered. Other pictures are full drills meaning the entire canvas is to be cover.

I use a pencil shaped applicator that uses a bit of waxy stuff to pick up colorful resin diamonds to apply to the canvas.

If you want a relaxing activity to work on at your own pace and create a fun or pretty piece of artwork. Diamond painting might be for you.
We have found it a bit addictive and always have several kits on hand to feed our diamond painting habit. lol

I hope this brief overview helps explain diamond painting fair enough to give a basic idea of how it’s done.
If you any any questions I’ll try to answer them.

Happy crafting!

Work in Progress 2025 – Diamond Painting

We started 2025 year off with diamond paintings . My husband is faster at the DP art than I am. He’s already finished his picture of kitchen paraphernalia.
I’m about 3/4 way through with mine. I like the watering can with sunflowers.
Sending warm thoughts and
Wishing you all a happy crafting Wednesday!

New Favorite Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Unfortunately, I’ve discovered a new pumpkin pie recipe that my husband and I enjoy.
We love pie. I don’t enjoy the hassle of making or baking crusts, (nor using premade ones) so when I came across this ‘Betty Crocker – Impossibly Easy Pumpkin Pie’ I knew it was worth a try.

It’s firm and more savory and not very sweet. It bakes up beautifully… And it’s crustless!
I’ve made a couple of these tasty pies over the last month and they both disappeared in less than 24 hours. lol

Wishing you all a terrific rest of the holiday season.
