I’m starting this lovely cross stitch titled ‘Joy In The Journey’. I bought it a year or so ago. Since I enjoyed doing the ‘Cardinal Cross Stitch Hanger’ cross stitch I thought I’d give this a try.
I plan to post my updates of any noticeable progress I make on it.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Using my sewing machine, I zig zagged around the edges of the cross stitch cloth so it wouldn’t ravel out.
The fabric had some major creases, so I soaked it in cold soapy water, rinsed it, rung it out rolled up in a towel and ironed it dry.
To find the center, I measured with 2 measuring sticks and made a tiny stitch in the middle mark.
I mounted the cross stitch cloth on a frame with legs that I made out of pvc pipe and pvc joints.
I cross stitched two middle rows of the pattern.
And now my project waits until I’m ready to work on it some more.
I hope your week is going well.
Happy crafting!
.
I love the frame! I love how you take things around and turn them into what you need.

Thanks so much Nadine
I enjoy finding different uses for my craft supplies (or anything else that catches my fancy) PVC pipe is a very handy versatile tool and it’s reusable forever.

This reminds me how much I used to love cross-stitch 🙂
So I had lots of trouble with my knitting blog. I don’t know why. My comments on other blogs were going into spam. Then I couldn’t do any posts. I had several emails with wordpress, they were helpful but did not solve all the problems. Then I got so frustrated I deleted the knitting blog.
One of my blog friends then told me some of the things that may have caused such problems. It was all much more technical than I want to know. My photo blog is almost one year old and no troubles.
Now I am trying to decide what to do next. I really would like to have a blog with more than photos. I would like to have my knitting and some random everyday stuff too.
Do I start over with a new name? Do I just expand my photo blog even though it has a photo name?
Let me know if you have any thoughts.
Thanks 🙂

Hi Laura,
I’m sorry to hear that you shut your knitting blog down. I understand why though. It’s irritating to experience constant problems and very frustrating too. Unfortunately, I don’t have any suggestions, I’m pretty much technically-impaired.
Whatever you decide to do will be fine with me, I enjoy visiting your blog(s).
