I got sidetracked for the last couple weeks with my new crochet blanket. The yarn is quite a lovely and soft texture, however, trying to find the middle-pull end was most frustrating. I finally, started with the outside end of the skein and wound it in a ball. It took me a few hours over the course of a day, between housework, to wind the over 1000+ yards.
Since I wound the yarn into a ball, I’m having an enjoyable time making the blanket. I still have over 200 rows to go. Thankfully, it’s a C2C stitch pattern and the last half of the blanket pattern rows will get shorter and faster to finish with every row. (Did that make sense. 😀 )
Yesterday morning, as I picked up my crochet blanket to work on, it occurred to me, that perhaps, I should put it down for the day and try and finish my Burgundy & Gray Tote Bag.
And that is what I did.
It took me the rest of the day, while also doing my housework, to finish it. I finished it right before supper time.
It turned out quite nice.
It’s large enough to hold my laptop.
It has 2 zippered pockets, one large and one medium size.
I decided not to put a closure on it (at the moment) I might later on, if I see that one is needed.
And with this finish, I can get back to happily crocheting on my latest blanket.
Wishing you all a weekend of pleasant temperatures and happy thoughts.

Thanks so much Colleen,
My tote bag turned out better than I’d hoped.
I’m following the pattern and size with this blanket. It’s be around 54″x54″.
It’s funny you said that about Autumn. I was thinking the same thing. 💖

When the temps cooled down this past weekend, it was so nice but now. Oh well back to 85°. But still nice porch weather with the fans on in the evenings. :)🌿🍂🍁💖

Congrats on finishing the tote, it looks great! I’ve never tried any c2c, I must have a look at patterns that would suit a beginner…

Thanks so much CA,
Once you get the hang of c2c, it has a lot of possibilities. I prefer c2c of any stitch pattern now. I hope you’ll give it a try. 🙂

The tote looks awesome, E.C.–you’re on a roll! 🙂 I’m so happy to see this one done–the colors work so well together, and the unobtrusive marling highlights the pattern’s texture so well.
Winding yarn into balls is so meditative as long as it doesn’t become tiring, haha! I’m looking forward to seeing the blanket–the yellow looks so soothing.

Thanks so much Anita,
My tote worked out better than I planned. It’s handy for toting several things along with my laptop and I didn’t even plan that. lol
I agree about winding balls of yarn. This ball of yarn was huge and took a super long time. I did enjoy winding it though.
The actual color is ‘antique white’ and yep it’s soothing and so soft. It was a nice surprise to me for it to be such a soft luscious yellow color. I thought antique white was more of a blueish or grayish white. I’m so glad it turned out to be better than I thought.
