2017 WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge – Shadow

2017 WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge
~Shadow~

“This week, grab your camera and capture a shadow.”
~*~

7-25-2013I couldn’t take a shadow photo this week. So, I went through my old
photo files and picked out one from 2013 of Shelibean, his shadow
and the shadow of some flowers I was growing on the porch.
I hope it’ll do okay for the weekly challenge.

Wishing you all fun with the WP photo challenge!

WIP Wednesday – New Blankets for Shelibean

When Shelibean first came to join our family, I discovered that he loved crocheted blankets. I crocheted him 4 simple little blankets. I used Red heart yarn that I had bought several years before. It was even the last of the yarn. I was happy to use it up. Crocheting Sheli the blankets restarted my love of crochet and yarn crafting in general. The blankets have held up really well even though I wash them alot. I figure they’ll last for a few more years.8-15-2012-sb

It’s been 4 1/2 years since I made the blankets. I thought Sheli might enjoy some new ones.  I use a simple granny square pattern. The blankets work up quite fast. I plan to make 3 (maybe more)
Wednesday-work-in-progress 2 down 1 to go.2-8-2017-sb

Shelibean’s enjoying the first 2 blankets so much the he lay still while I took his handsome photo.

Wishing you all progress in your
works-in-progress, whatever they may be.

WildLife Wednesday – Screech

1-15-2017-hootScreech has been spending a great deal of time here during the milder weather. He’s so used-to us that he didn’t open his eyes but a crack when we were in the barn. It gives us a big smile to see this fine-feathered friend trust us enough not to fly away whenever he sees us. I’m glad we didn’t disturb his nap.

Screech has been visiting our barn from time-to-time since 2013. It’s possible that he was there before then and we didn’t know about it. I did a quick search on screech owls and discovered that the oldest one they knew of out in the wild lived to be 14 years and in captivity they could live to be 20 years. Thankfully, his life span is a lot longer than I would have guessed. Hopefully, we’ll have many years of his visits ahead to enjoy.

Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday!
