Strolling with Sheli-bean

Sheli-bean will be 12 years old in June. He’s still my Babyboy though. Unfortunately, time is starting to wear on him. He has several health problems which has stopped us from taking him for walks of any distance.
Sheli-bean enjoys going to the garden with us. He’ll walk halfway to the garden, and we carry him the rest of the way. When we go back home, we carry him all the way back.
However, time is starting to wear on us as well. Sadly, Sheli is afraid of our small garden wagon and won’t ride it. It’s getting more difficult to tote him and gardening supplies.
Last week, it occurred to me that there’s all sorts of cool stuff made for pets now, so why not a stroller.
I was ever so happy to find one that is made the way we think is best for Sheli-bean. I was worried how he would take to it. But my worries were short lived when I put him in it, he sat right down. We took him outside and he seemed to enjoy riding in the stroller.
When we came back in, he didn’t want to be taken out of the stroller. He laid down and took a nice long nap. I guess enjoying the great outdoors without it affecting his health was a relief to his little spirit.

I hope you all have a pleasant rest of the week.

Holiday Shelibean – Finished my Busy Work Blanket

I hope you all are getting in a festive mood. We;ve begun our holiday decorating. Last year, we had to wait on decorating until mid-December. We had some much-needed work done on our house and it was worth the wait.
Sheli enjoys the decorating and gets right in the middle of it. He has several toys that he gets to play with only during the holidays. He nuzzles them like old friends and wags them around like he’s missed them so very much. He’s such a jolly little fellow.

I finished Busy Work Blanket it’s 64 inches x 74 inch.
I really like the look of it. It turned out quite well.
It’ll come in handy during the colder weather to curl up in and watch some tv or read a good book.

Wishing you all an enjoyable weekend.

Finished C2C Bias Blanket Crochet Kit

In an earlier post about the ‘On the Bias Square Afghan’ crochet kit project I was working on, I mentioned about increasing the size 15 inches and needing another skein of yarn? Well, as it turned out, instead of 1 more skein, I needed 2 more skeins. That makes 4 skeins to make this blanket. (although I only used about 1/3 of the 4th skein) Thankfully this yarn’s soft creamy antique white color matched in all 4 skeins.

With my guessing about rows to increase the size, I miscalculated and turned the original square into a rectangle. It measures 60 inches by 72 inches. It’s a really nice large size blanket.

Unfortunately, it’s got a bit of a warp to it and doesn’t fold up evenly.  It’s still a warm blanket and it quite pretty too.

I made-up a different border than the solid one in the original pattern. I figure I had plenty of yarn, might as well use it. I think my border gave it a bit more character.
I’m glad this blanket is finished. I enjoyed making it. I’m not in a hurry to start another big project, but it doesn’t mean I won’t. I can never tell about me. ☺️

I’m now searching for my next project, I wonder what it will be.

Wishing you all Happy Crafting Success!

Shelibean Our Bye-Bye Boy

Our handsome little Shelibean gets super excited when I ask him if he wants to go bye-bye. He’ll dance around, until we scoop him up and leave. He really enjoys going for rides.
When he was younger, he absolutely hated rides. He would howl, bark and whine the entire time we would take him anywhere, no matter the length of the journey. Front seat, back seat or kennel it did not matter, he was not a happy passenger.
Then I started sitting him on a towel on the center console. He didn’t fuss as much and now he sits there quite nicely.
However,
We realized that just sitting him there, wouldn’t be the safest thing if there was an accident. So we figured it was time to get him a car seat.
We originally were going to make one ourselves, then I was shopping online and found a ready-made one for a reasonable price.
I took it out of the box and began to set it up. Shelibean claimed it before I could even zip up the front flap.
He snuggled down in it, so I left him there to take a nice long a nap. He was so cute all curled up like a sweet baby.
The car seat installed easily with straps that wrap around the console compartment lid. I placed Sheli in it and he proudly sit up like it was his throne.
What I like about this seat, is it, hopefully, protects Sheli better. It also has a lead that can attach to his collar to restrain him when need be.
Now when we go for a ride, SheliBean is the King of the car sitting in his throne being the handsome Alpha-dog he is.

So this is the last day of November. We haven’t put up one solitary decoration yet. It feels kind of strange not to already have out tree up. We’re having some work done on the house soon and we’d have to move the decor out of the way. Hopefully, if the weather behaves, the work will be done and finished mid-December.
And then the decorating madness can begin. 😍

I hope y’all are happily making plans and looking forward to the upcoming holidays.

Sunny Spring Saturday

P1700249
My daffodils were so pretty this year. They began blooming last of February and then burst into a glorious display early March. I had began to think they were safe from snow
and then…
P1700342
March 12, 2022 we got a heavy, but pretty snowfall.
It caused my daffodils to freeze-to-death.
That made me sad.
However, at least we’re done with that ‘snow-laying-on-daffodils-once’.
Now Spring can continue to bud and bloom…
(until our last frost in a month or so, which hopefully won’t freeze so hard that it bites all the beautiful green things to death.)

Speaking of Spring, my day-lilies have awoken and are growing. Shelibean posed in front of them for me.
Bless my wee-boy’s-heart, he’s starting to show his age, thankfully he’s still a puppy at heart and a loving, happy little soul.

Happy Spring to you all!
