7-18-2024 My curly parsley and marigold pot was visited by a female black swallowtail butterfly.
She laid over a half dozen eggs over the plant. I took a few photos of some of the eggs. So, pretty soon, there might be some baby caterpillars feeding and growing in the curly leaves.

If the eggs survive and hatch and we figure we’ll be shopping for more parsley soon to feed the brood of caterpillars.
Wishing you all a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Taking pictures in the garden is one of the extra joys of gardening. It also helps me to see the health of the plants/vines.
As I was taking photos of my squash I saw an adult Squash Vine Borer. I was not happy about it. Fortunately, I had on my handy-dandy plastic gloves and was able to grab the demon bug and dispatch of her in short measure. This, I might add, is quite a feat, since these particular pests are fast. Thankfully she hadn’t laid an egg.
In my opinion, the SVB is one of the most vicious pests in the garden because it’s almost impossible to do anything about them.
