We made Bruschetta using fresh picked green onions on Mother’s Day. I fixed a small plate with fresh picked chard, shrimp, bruschetta and cocktail sauce.
Cocktail sauce and shrimp is really good.

Bruschetta and cocktail sauce is not as tasty, the cocktail sauce overpowered the bruschetta. It was okay, it’s just not something I plan to serve together on one plate again. Oh well, You live, you cook, you learn and carry on.
It was a pretty plate and a nice little snack for back porch sitting and enjoying the day.
I hope the weather is pleasant where you are
and you can find time to get out and enjoy it!

We got our first harvest of green beans yesterday. I can hardly wait to cook them. I’m going to put new potatoes and some herbs in with the beans and let them cook down. Yum! The rest of the beans will be snapped, blanched, vacuum packed and put in the freezer for winter.

This beautiful Turkey hen has been cruising our garden. We figure she has or will soon have a nest of eggs close by. We enjoy watching baby turkey’s grow from fuzz-balls to full feathered birds. I’ll post photos of her new poults if she’ll bring them within my camera range. (A baby turkey is called a poult.)
I’m happy to report that we got our 1st harvest of green onions out of the garden. My husband ate a few with supper last night.
The Poplar trees are blooming. I wish I could pick some blooms to enjoy in the house a day or two; our poplars are too tall for that. So as my blogging buddy
