Hope you had a nice day, E.C.! I laughed when I saw the deviled eggs in your picture! We celebrated at my sister-in-law’s house, and I’m usually asked to bring deviled eggs to any gathering. So, even though I don’t think of them as Thanksgiving day fare, I made them and took them to lunch today!
Thanks so much Dianna,
You made me smile. Deviled eggs are the one food that disappears very quickly at our holiday meals. I think Deviled eggs are decorative to a table. We only make them for picnics or gatherings. I make them simply with miracle whip, mustard and a sprinkle of salt. Yours must be mighty tasty. If you don’t mind my asking, What recipe do you use? 😀
I don’t use a recipe: that’s one of the very few dishes I make without one. I just use mayo (or Miracle Whip), a tiny bit of yellow mustard, some pickle relish, salt, pepper and a little sugar.
Thanks so much Dianna
The not-needing a recipe is my favorite part. I tried one time to work it out in recipe form, but it didn’t work out. Like you, I prefer just winging it until the right texture and taste is achieved. I hadn’t thought of adding pickle relish or sugar, that sounds like a tasty addition. I may have to try that. Thanks for sharing your recipe, I appreciate it. 😀
Thanks so much Sheryl
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving too. Ah yes that food lasted only about as long as it took to sit down and give thanks. 😀
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I think Chicken Slow Cooker Pot Pie and Muffin Flats would have made a wonderful feast. Looking back, I am glad to see you are getting the herb garden ready for another year of butterflies! I love your blue birds. They are regulars here. I keep water out for them year round. Now on to Christmas!
Thanks so much Mary,

We plan for next year, to have a separate bed for the fennel and parsley away from the bird baths. We felt awfully bad about that. Before the herb bed with birdbaths, we saw bluebirds only occasionally. A small flock of them visits everyday now. I’m making sure to keep the birdbath clean and filled. Ah yes, we are on-to-Christmas already. The Christmas colors sure does perk up a home and make it more cheerful looking. 😀

Are those “flat beans” to the right of the ham?

Hi Dianna
Yes they are. They’re canned store bought, but we rinse them and cook them down in chicken broth and they taste really good. 😀
