Patchwork Busy-V Blanket

I’m happy that I finally have a new project to do.
I had better luck getting my supplies together to make this project.
Yep, it’s another ‘Busy-Work’ V stitch crochet blanket.
busy-vcolorboxI’ve planned for the color blocking to be more squared to give it more of a patchwork look.
As you can tell, my busy-v pattern is my favorite, right now. This is Busy-V blanket number 3. I like that it’ll keep me busy for a few weeks or more.

I hope y’all aren’t getting too bored with my Busy-Work blankets. I figure my enjoyment for working this pattern may eventually run its course. Or maybe not… I never know about me. 😁

Wishing you all enjoyable busy work!

Well Shucks No Cross Stitch Kit

I was thinking about doing a new cross stitch project. I have plenty of floss and fabric, so no need to buy a kit.
I figured I’d find a pattern and kit-it-out. I’d have it handy to work on through this year. I planned to start on it tonight…
I found a charming pattern and printed it off. I sat down with my oodles of floss and soon discovered that for all my skeins, I was about 25 colors shy. And, in truth the fabric really needs to be blue instead of white.
Well shucks, no kit today…
Part of the joy of making the kit was using my on-hand supplies. I put my supplies away until I decide if and when I want to place a floss and fabric order and try to kit-it-out again.

Wishing you all success in your 2024 plans.

A bit of Silliness for Wednesday – pyramids of Egypt

A dear friend of mine visited Egypt last year. He sent me several amazing photos. This one, however, I felt gave me a bit more to consider.
1) The Pyramids are thousands of years old. Some schools of thought put forth the idea that these are supposedly built by chiseling out oodle-ton blocks of stone and dragging them oodles of miles and stacking them with human power and maybe a pulley or two.
2) The camera used for this photo is a device that has more computer power than Nasa had when it first sent men to the moon. The phone with the camera can give you the power right in the pal of your hand, to communicate with most anywhere in the world, with little lag time. This photo reached me in a short time after it was taken over 6,500 miles away.
3) Now here’s the part that caught my attention:
Between the Pyramids and the camera that took this photo, is a construction site with our modern-day fete of ingenuity of lift and stack machinery: a crane.
I wonder how many times larger a crane would need to be, to lift one of the mega-ton-stones to build a pyramid.

I’ll leave my thoughts there for you to consider… 🤔
Might be, I’m just Silly? 😊

Wishing you all a year full of wonderful wonders and silliness! 😊
