SheliBean hates pumpkin

P1050649I took this photo of Shelibean when he was relaxing after having a ruff (sic) day. He doesn’t do well with storms and it had stormed for better part of the day.

Sometimes being so upset causes Sheli to have an upset tummy. Pumpkin was always my first choice to settle a dog’s tummy… until Sheli… When Sheli was a puppy I’d try to get him to eat a little pumpkin to settle his tummy and he would have no part of it.

My husband and I discussed it and decided that since Sheli is now an adult dog, he may be more incline to eat pumpkin. I opened the can and dipped out a half teaspoon. My husband tried to give it to him, but Sheli physically turned his nose up at it and put it on ignore.
I tried to give some to him by taking little dabs of the canned pumpkin on my finger and letting him lick it off. That worked for about 1/4 teaspoon and then he refused to take another bite.

I was hopeful that since he’s not very big, that maybe the little bit he ate would help. Thankfully he didn’t have anymore tummy issues.

All the dogs we’ve had in decades past would eat pumpkin like it was sauteed steak.
I’m glad Sheli is a hardy boy and we haven’t had to worry too much about his health.

Puppy’s got a brand new bag

7-2-2016-toolpupyMy husband brought home a new tool bag. When he set it on the floor, Sheli climbed in it like he was staking claim to the new bag.
My husband couldn’t resist picking the bag up to see if Sheli would stay in and I couldn’t resist taking a photo.
Sheli was quite content to stay in the bag, but quickly hopped out of when my husband set it back on the floor.

Pets gotta love ’em.

Shelibean – May 2016

patootie-1We’ve been fortunate to have a some days of nice weather and the opportunity to let Sheli romp around outside. patootie-2It’s hard to get a really good photo of him. He knows when I start to take a picture & turns away quickly. patootie-3Occasionally, Sheli pauses long enough for me to capture his adorable sweet self.

Wishing you happy days of enjoying going outside
with your pets whatever species they may be.
2For those of you that aren’t familiar with Sheli aka Shelibean, he’s a shichi, that’s a cross between a Shih Tzu & Chihuahua.

Shelibean the Snow King

IMG_9405b

We got a peach of a snow last night. Shelibean zoomed in and out of the house so excited and each time got closer to the cold white snow. He finally got up enough courage to investgate the white fluffy covering and then took a good taste of it. He had a fun time running around and jumping in it.
Sheli was so cute I couldn’t resist sharing the only photo of him that wasn’t blurred. lol

Random Five Friday – 8-22-2014

0-shelibeanI figure what better way to start off a Random Friday Five than with Shelibean.  I wanted a new photo of Sheli to post here, but he was having none of it. I scooped him up and sat him on an old table outside and still he wouldn’t cooperate. This was the only photo out of a half dozen that was even recognizable. It’s like he knows if he moves his head it blurs the photo. Apparently Sheli loves being a lap-landing-ornament but he ain’t gonna be nobody’s super model.

IMG_6329My husband’s flower bed is looking wonderful. It’s so pretty in real life.

IMG_6341Our Gerber daisies never have had a chance to flourish because something keeps cutting them down.
I was happy when I found this one with a bloom and a ladybug. I figure the bloom won’t be there much longer. It’s either rabbits or squirrels that cuts our Gerber daisies down. Nope it’s not a cutting worm. Want to know how I know it’s not a cutting worm? Because cutting worms don’t leave foot prints in the dirt and they don’t scatter the leaves and stems. lol

IMG_6325The walnuts are falling, which means that Autumn is soon to be here putting the land to bed getting ready for the long winter’s sleep.  We don’t ever harvest the walnuts, we leave them for the squirrels to eat and bury all over the yard.

IMG_6392I’ve been working a bit on burlap decor. I’ve decided it needs some color. Instead of buying colored burlap I dyed it with coffee and kool-aid. I’m pleased as peaches with the results.
While I’m discussing burlap, here’s a little stuffed heart I made that may end up on my new wreath. I’m quite pleased with the way it looks and I wanted to show it off. 😉IMG_6387

This is all for me at the moment.

I hope you all have a pleasant weekend.
