Work In Progress Wednesday – C2C Patchwork Blanket

I’m trying to thin down my yarn stash by making another good sized blanket. As it always goes, I had plenty of the rose and tan of the colors but had to order blue and sage skeins to finish it out. But it still reduced my stash by quite a bit.
I’ve been working on the squares since the first week of October. I’ve only a couple more to go before I start joining the blocks together.
I really like these colors together. I hope the blanket looks pretty good when completed and if it doesn’t, well at least it’ll be warm.

Wishing you a Happy rest of the week!

Diamond painting – plastic canvas tissue box cover – Classic Impressions Needlepoint

I’m happy with my diamond painting.
I framed it and have it hanging in my kitchen.
It wasn’t easy to get a very good picture of it, but this one turned out fairly well.

I finished my plastic canvas tissue box cover.
I think the colors look pretty good together.

I got a bit more done on my ‘Classic Impressions Needlepoint’.
I hope I’ll keep working on it steady.
I still have oodles of work to go on it.

Wishing you all a week of happy crafting!

Works in Progress – Internet issues

Here’s my two long term projects, one will take the rest of the year to finish and the other, well maybe a decade or two at the rate I’m going. 😀
My 2022 temperature blanket is slowly coming along.
I work a few times a week on my needlepoint. I wish I was faster at it. But as long as I keep working on it (and don’t store it away again), I figure, I’ll eventually get it finished. It’s supposed to be a pillow topper, however I’m not fond of the idea of all my hard work being put on a throw pillow. I’m going to frame it and hang it on the wall so I can admire it safely behind glass. 😉
I’m working on another tissue box cover. I’ve never used any colors with this pattern except for light beige and a pink or rose color, so this topper is quite fun for me. It’s looking okay in the combo of Camel and blue.
I think this diamond painting is going to turn out quite well. I plan to frame it. I wish my camera could show how pretty the finished diamond dot area is.

It helps me to have a few different projects going right now since my internet is not what it used to be. I’m not even sure I’ll be able to get this to upload today for WIP Wednesday. I’m going to try though. Our internet is slow as dial up. Hopefully, our internet provider will get the system updated and upgraded soon.

Wishing you all nice weather and happy thoughts.

Final round – Sunburst Granny Square Blanket

I finally got the yellow round crocheted on my sunburst granny squares. I was going to do another round of white, but my enjoyment for working with this pattern has ran it’s course. I’ve made ever so many of these squares since I first discovered the pattern last September. It’s all I could do to keep going to do the yellow round on all these squares.

Thank goodness the square measure 8″x8″.  I cut the amount of squares back from 72 to 64 so the blanket will be an 8 block x 8 block square and will still be a nice size blanket

Hopefully, I’ll get this blanket assembled and finished soon. After I get it finished, I plan to line up all my sunburst blankets and throws and take a photo of them to post here.

Wishing you all a fun filled weekend.

Happy crafting!

WIP Wednesday – Temperature blankets Update

In an earlier post, I said I was going to give updates on my temperature blankets every 29 days or so, but I made another color change that I wanted to share.
I’m not using ‘Aran’ color for the joining. I’m using other colors to help give the blankets more character and help make them easier to tell apart.

For the ‘High Temperature’ blanket, I’m using ‘burgundy’ for the joining (and the edging when it’s finished) because that’s the color of the ‘Highest’ temperature on my chart. For the ‘Low Temperature’ blanket, I’m using ‘White’ for the joining (and the edging when it’s finished) because that’s the color of the ‘Lowest’ temperature on my chart.

I’m hoping that this is the final adjustment I make. Now I can focus on adding the colors each day and joining the rows together every 14 days.

Wishing you all a wonderful rest of the week.

WIP Wednesday – Crochet Cardigan

I’ve always wanted to try to make a simple crochet cardigan to wear around the house.  Over the years I’ve looked at hundreds of patterns from fancy to odd, but none were as simple as I wanted.
I played with the idea of making one freehand just to see how it would turn out.  I planned in my mind how I’d make it. I got the hook and yarn together and then I began.
I’ve made plenty of hats and scarves to wear, but this is the first crocheted garment that I’ve made for myself.
It’s coming along faster than I thought it would. I figure I’ll finish it over the next couple days. I hope it turns out okay. Wish me luck.

Wishing you all success on your works-in-progress.
Happy Wednesday!

WIP Wednesday – New Blankets for Shelibean

When Shelibean first came to join our family, I discovered that he loved crocheted blankets. I crocheted him 4 simple little blankets. I used Red heart yarn that I had bought several years before. It was even the last of the yarn. I was happy to use it up. Crocheting Sheli the blankets restarted my love of crochet and yarn crafting in general. The blankets have held up really well even though I wash them alot. I figure they’ll last for a few more years.8-15-2012-sb

It’s been 4 1/2 years since I made the blankets. I thought Sheli might enjoy some new ones.  I use a simple granny square pattern. The blankets work up quite fast. I plan to make 3 (maybe more)
Wednesday-work-in-progress 2 down 1 to go.2-8-2017-sb

Shelibean’s enjoying the first 2 blankets so much the he lay still while I took his handsome photo.

Wishing you all progress in your
works-in-progress, whatever they may be.
