Wishing the Moms, Caregivers
& Guardians of Our Precious Children,
a Very Happy Mother’s Day!
Wishing the Moms, Caregivers
April 30, 2021, we ventured out shopping for shrubs and flowers. I saw this yellow peony, I thought it was the one of the prettiest peonies that I’d ever seen. I’d wanted a yellow peony for at least 4 decades. I’ve spoke of it to my husband oodles of times over the years. Unfortunately, it was more expensive than I’m comfortable paying for a flower and it saddened me. I turned to walk away.
My husband watched me admiring the peony and said with a huge smile, “Happy Early Mother’s Day!”
I was over-the-moon with joy.
It’s been a beautiful addition to my small flowerbed ever since.
Bartzella Itoh Peony
It’s a hybrid herbaceous and tree peony cross.
It has a wonderful fragrance.
The blooms are about 8 inches across
It’s deer and rabbit resistant.
It doesn’t need ants, insects or bugs, to feed on it, to bloom.
Now that some of the sunflower seeds are maturing, Mr & Mrs Goldfinch visits to enjoy a feast of them. I never tire of watching this beautiful and fun couple.

Another reason I love zinnias is they attract Yellow Goldfinches or as we like to call them, Canary birds.
Yellow Goldfinches are fun bits of sunshine playing in the zinnia patch.

edited in 7-13-2019: I was talking to my husband about the yellow finches and he casually mentioned to me that they’re called ‘Goldfinches’ . So, I thought I should update this post with the right name in case someone might want to research them further. 😉

I was taking photos in my Lily patch and came across this lovely 2 color lily. It’s so unique and fun. It made me smile. I don’t recall ever seeing it bloom before.
A couple years ago we bought several different varieties of lilies for the front yard. There’s quite a bit of shade in our front yard, but we figured the lilies would do okay. Unfortunately, we were wrong, they didn’t do well and barely grew or bloomed.
Last year, We made a lily patch in the back yard, in an area of full sun, and transplanted the front yard lilies to it. All the lilies took off growing and have thrived wonderfully.

My Blog Issue Update:
I can surf blogs with other browsers, fairly well now, but not for posting and commenting.
I’m using a Chrome browser for posting today. I want to see if it helps my issues before I contact WP support.
So far, so good…
I’m going to try and visit and comment using Chrome.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to visit and do a bit of catching up with you all.
Wish me luck 🙂
