Snowman made of cans

I realize this is a little late in the season, but I’ve been under the weather for the last week. Thankfully I’m better now.
I finally finished this snowman yesterday. I want to go ahead and post it. I got the idea from Pinterest seeing snowmen made out of cans.I absolutely adore this guy.
He brightens up the room and
makes me smile every time I look at him.

Wishing you all happiness with your Christmas projects.

Here’s a few highlights of how I made my snowman.

-I used 28 ounce cans.
-I used my old hot glue gun instead of my low temp glue gun. The glue’s slower setting and gives more time for moving the cans into place.
-I ran into an issue with hot gluing the cans together and having a neat seam. I also worried that the cans might snap apart if they got banged around any. I made a cardboard cap for the cans and hot glued it in the top and then hot glued the cans together at the cardboard ends. This worked out really well.
-For the brim of the hat, I glued 3 small paper plates together. I figure that my snowman won’t ever be outside so the paper plates wouldn’t be a problem.
-For the hat, I left the open end of the can up to put flowers and stuff in.
-My husband spray painted the hat black and then spray painted the body white.
-The white paint didn’t cover as well as I liked, so I went over the body with white acrylic paint and a coat of glitter paint.
-I hot glued the hat to the body.
-I sculpted the nose out of polymer clay and hot glued it on snowman’s face.
-I painted the eyes, mouth and buttons.
-I crocheted the scarf.

Crochet House Footies

I’ve used up some of my extra yarn by crocheting some house footies. I discovered that I enjoyed making them, so, I cheerfully crocheted myself several pair.

Some are low top.
Some are short top.
Some are high top.
And one pair is over-the-top
for just jolly good old fun.

Wishing you all a Jolly Good
Wednesday Filled with Fun!

My laptop crashed big time

Thursday evening, my laptop had a major crash. I blame the recent Window Upgrades on my issues. Ever since their new upgrading started, my laptop hasn’t been the same. I tried every fix I could, but it was beyond quick fixes. I was afraid I was going to have to buy a new laptop.  I determined to try everything I could to fix this one before buying a new one. I had to fix this one during 12-2016 so I knew there was hope.

I had to do a factory reset on my laptop and it took it back to Windows 8.1. I lost every program I had installed: browsers, photo editors, mail client and so on. Thankfully the reset didn’t delete any of my personal files. I think that’s amazing.
I’m very grateful to whoever made the option to keep the personal files and still do a reset. It’s a blessing and spared me from having to do a lot of uploading my personal files. I back up my personal and photo files about once a month to an external drive. I had just backed them up earlier Thursday. Thankfully, I didn’t need them though.

After the success of the reset, I decided to live with Windows 8.1 for a while, but that wasn’t to be.
I began to try to install my anti-virus and it wasn’t happening.  I went searching for a fix and on the list of things to trouble-shoot was make sure your Windows program is up-to-date, well flitter! I was going to have to install Windows 10 anyway. I surfed out the download file and began the many many hours of install. After it finished, I was able to install my anti-virus with no trouble.

I surfed around in the Windows 10 and discovered that the it’s install came with the recent upgrades (that made my laptop sick) and I don’t have to worry about them trying to install and crashing my laptop again (I hope)

It took constant work, but after 24 hours from the time my laptop crashed it’s fixed. I hope this resolves the issues for another year or longer. I’ve had my laptop for around 3 years. I’m hoping I can keep it running and functioning for another year or two. Time will tell.

Wishing you all an issue free weekend.

Testing the WordPress App

Here’s Sheli-bean when he was trying out his new bed. He immediately liked it.
I thought it’d be perfect for trying out this app, in hopes I will like it too.

So far so good.

It’s 10:15pm 12-13-2017- I’m going to try to schedule this post for 12-14-2017 midnight and see if it works.

Wish me luck.

I couldn’t get the App to schedule this post nor could I edit it like I need too. Apparently there’s a step or two that I missed. I’m technologically-impaired, so don’t let my first attempt dissuade you from trying the app.
I went online and logged-in to my normal blog file manager to edit in some more content and finish this post and schedule it.

Anyhow, I suppose the app will be a peach for immediate posting. I realize there’s a learning curve and this first attempt doesn’t really make an educated guide to judge it by. I believe with practice the app might be quite handy. I plan to try it another day sometime.

Have you tried the WordPress app?
Did it work well for you?

Happy blogging!
