I realize Mr. Skink is in the sunshine and not in the shadows, but he is shadowed on two sides by the silhouettes of the porch railng.
I went through my photos for this challenge. With all the cold and dreary gray days we’ve been having, I wanted to post a perkier reminder of sunshine. I found this photo from 2008. I hope it’ll be okay for the challenge.

I may miss a week or so, here and there, throughout the year but I’m going to give it a try anyway.

I’m starting the year off with a new Dell 15.6″ Laptop. My old gateway laptop was good for 6 years or so, but this past week the keys started falling off and it required too much attention to reboot it… sooo I went out and bought this new Dell laptop.
Within a few minutes of opening it, I put a band-aid over the camera lens. lol I’m not comfortable with that little glass-eye staring at me all the time.
This Dell was supposed to be 1tb, but it’s not, it’s only 921gb and then it’s actually 884gb because of the Windows programs.
I originally was going to replace my old gateway laptop with a tablet. I ordered a Dell Venue 8 pro 32gb. I really really liked it until I realized after a couple days that it had only about 6gb free. It went from 32gb with 11gb free to about 6gb free after updates. I was not happy at all, so I returned it and got a refund.

I figure what better way to start off a Random Friday Five than with Shelibean. I wanted a new photo of Sheli to post here, but he was having none of it. I scooped him up and sat him on an old table outside and still he wouldn’t cooperate. This was the only photo out of a half dozen that was even recognizable. It’s like he knows if he moves his head it blurs the photo. Apparently Sheli loves being a lap-landing-ornament but he ain’t gonna be nobody’s super model.
My husband’s flower bed is looking wonderful. It’s so pretty in real life.
Our Gerber daisies never have had a chance to flourish because something keeps cutting them down.
I was happy when I found this one with a bloom and a ladybug. I figure the bloom won’t be there much longer. It’s either rabbits or squirrels that cuts our Gerber daisies down. Nope it’s not a cutting worm. Want to know how I know it’s not a cutting worm? Because cutting worms don’t leave foot prints in the dirt and they don’t scatter the leaves and stems. lol
The walnuts are falling, which means that Autumn is soon to be here putting the land to bed getting ready for the long winter’s sleep. We don’t ever harvest the walnuts, we leave them for the squirrels to eat and bury all over the yard.
I’ve been working a bit on burlap decor. I’ve decided it needs some color. Instead of buying colored burlap I dyed it with coffee and kool-aid. I’m pleased as peaches with the results.
While I’m discussing burlap, here’s a little stuffed heart I made that may end up on my new wreath. I’m quite pleased with the way it looks and I wanted to show it off. 😉
This is all for me at the moment.

Looks like there’s going to be a new fawn in the neighborhood in the next few weeks. This doe and a young buck came strolling across our land. I wasn’t fast enough to get a good photo of the young buck, but I did manage to get this fairly good photo of the doe. She’s a really good size deer. I hope she’ll bring her baby by sometime. and I hope I can get photos of it.

Every time I step out of the door I’m greeted with the sweet aroma of honeysuckle. It’s really spread alot more this year than previous years. It must’ve been a perfect winter for it to flourish.

I’m trying to make a project using these colors, but so far I have had to salvage two attempts. Sooo, maybe it’ll be 3-times-charm and I’ll actually get my project finished and can share it here soon.

Have you ever finished a craft and as you look at it, you feel like something’s missing. That’s what happened to me with my Memorial day wreath. I like it and thought it was finished. I displayed on my wall and on my blog, but something about it bugged me.
Well, today as I was getting some supplies together for another craft, I had one of those ‘Aha!’ moments and it clicked what was missing on the wreath… it needed gold trim around the roses to make them stand out more.
It alot of work, but I got the trim on.
I updated the photo in the sidebar and the original post .
I’m much happier with it now. I hope it looks better. 🙂
